Charleston

We have made our big move from Virginia to Charleston and are finally getting settled. We have been here for a couple weeks now and we are really loving it. We bought a brand new house on Johns Island and we are learning all the little quirks that come with owning a new house. The biggest being that we don't have Internet wired to the house! There are only 6 houses in our part of the neighborhood that have people living in them right now, so Comcast has not felt it is worth their time yet to come lay the cable, so we are working off of our data plans on our phones right now...which is one reason why I will not be uploading any photos to this post. I am trying very hard to limit my internet usage. Hopefully we'll have some real Internet in the next couple weeks. Another thing we have learned is that our address is not listed on any data bases. We are considered a rural address, so we have to wait for people in Columbia to decide if we should get mail service or not. So for now we have to drive to the post office to pick up our mail. Also, apparently automatic garage door openers are an extra you have to write into the contract when buying a new house, so Rob has been working on installing ours and I know he is cursing this little quirk about our house. Otherwise, we absolutely love the house! We have some great new neighbors here and everyone is super friendly. We're excited for new neighbors as they move in. The other houses are going up very quickly around us, so I'm sure people will be moving in soon.

We have met tons of new people at church, at the MUSC auxiliary for spouses of residents, and at welcome socials for new residents. Everyone has been very friendly and oddly enough, there seem to be tons of people with kids the exact same ages as Adeline and Bobby.

We have already been to the beach about 4 times and Adeline and Bobby both love the water (this may be an understatement for Adeline). It is very fun being 15 minutes from the beach.

We are almost unpacked. We decided to put new floors in and paint first thing when we moved in, so that took precedence over unpacking for a while. A HUGE thank you to both our parents for helping with the projects. Next time y'all come we'll make sure it is a relaxing trip! This is the other reason why I haven't posted pictures yet. I'm waiting until things look a little nicer before I take the pictures. Hopefully one more week and the downstairs will be photo ready.

Adeline and Bobby are adjusting to all the new stuff pretty well. Bobby got his first 2 teeth within the first week we were here, so that added a little extra stress to everything, but they are both beginning to mellow out from all the excitement and change.

Again, sorry about the lack of photos...can't wait for real Internet!
