Daddy’s Little Girl
One of my favorite things about being a mom is that I get to see Rob be a dad. It is so much fun to watch him with Adeline, to see how much he adores her and takes care of her. I really didn’t see much of this side of Rob while I was pregnant, but the moment Adeline was born, he went into daddy-mode. While I was laying exhausted and hungry in the hospital bed after delivery, Rob was not there holding my hand…he was out in the hall by the nursery watching our baby, waiting very impatiently to get to hold her again. It was definitely love at first sight for Daddy and his little girl!
Over the past few weeks, this love has only grown. Rob is always eager to hold her, change her diaper, and even feed her. He wanted me to start pumping right away so he could get a chance to bond with her during feeding time too. When she cries, he will cuddle her and let her suck on his pinkie finger to calm down. And you can tell he loves it as much as she does. Sometimes he’ll be all cuddled up with her, reading her a book or singing her a song. Both are so fun to watch because Rob likes to add his own flavor to the book/songs that he shares with her. My favorite thing are the songs—since Rob is not quite up to par on knowing all/any of the words to lullabies and nursery rhymes, he makes up his own words. I cannot count how many different versions of “Hush Little Baby” Rob has sung to Adeline. He just throws in any words that rhyme whether they make any sense or not (usually not). Here is my favorite “Rob original" version of Patty-Cake that I overheard him singing to Adeline the other day:
Patty-cake, Patty-cake
Addie is my girl
You are my girl
Cause you’re made from my sperm!
This is probably a sign of things to come…he will probably be one of those dads that is very open about the birds and the bees :) So to finish off this blog in honor of Rob, I will post some more photos that he has spent hours taking and perfecting. And a side note to Rob, I hope I haven’t embarrassed you too much by this post. I love you so much and want you to know that you are a wonderful husband and father!

The Photo Studio
The plus of having your front room turned into a photo studio:
